ZO Healthy Family Market

The ZO Healthy Family Market is more than just a gathering — it’s a place where families, neighbors, and friends come together to celebrate healthy living, cultural diversity, and the power of community spirit. Through workshops, local vendors, performances, and shared experiences, we create lasting connections and inspire a healthier, more supportive future for all. 💚

What happened?

The ZO Healthy Family Market, held on May 31, 2025 at the Amsterdam Skills Centre (Tafelbergweg 47), is a community celebration of health, connection, and shared growth. With local vendors, workshops, health screenings, and cultural performances, it brings together families and neighbors to co-create a vibrant, supportive neighborhood.

Why participate?

By joining, families and individuals discover how small, collective actions can create healthier lifestyles and stronger community bonds. The market is more than a place to shop—it’s a place to connect, exchange knowledge, and celebrate the diversity and resilience of our neighborhood. Participation means contributing to a shared vision of a healthier, more connected future for all. 🌱💚

🌟 Little Eyes, Big Futures

Children see the world in ways adults often overlook — full of possibility, creativity, and hope. With the Little Eyes Shaping the Future Competition, we give young voices the platform they deserve, inspiring them to imagine tomorrow’s neighbourhoods and empowering them to make a real difference today. 🎨🌍

What’s the idea

The competition invites children to share their vision of the future through drawings, crafts, or creative projects made with their own hands. Each piece of art reflects how they see their neighbourhood “of tomorrow,” highlighting their ideas for a more connected, inclusive, and inspiring community. By expressing their dreams, children become active contributors to the conversations that shape long-term change.

Why participate

In an age dominated by screens, this competition is a chance to spark imagination and hands-on creativity. By stepping away from gadgets, children rediscover the joy of making, storytelling, and working together. Participation also nurtures confidence, critical thinking, and a stronger sense of belonging.

Every child will receive a certificate of participation, while selected works will be exhibited in a local gallery. The top entries will even be auctioned, with proceeds reinvested in future community projects — turning creativity into impact. ✨

Green Feed to Farms in Need

Every day, tons of perfectly usable food goes to waste — food that could serve a purpose instead of ending up in the trash. With Green Feed to Farms in Need, we turn this challenge into an opportunity by connecting local shops and markets with farmers in Amsterdam-Zuidoost. Instead of discarding almost-expired fruits and vegetables, we redirect them as nutritious feed for animals, reducing waste and supporting a more sustainable food cycle. 🌱🐄

What’s the idea

Food waste is one of the biggest challenges of our time — and it harms both our environment and our communities. Stichting Futurum Nobis wants to turn this problem into an opportunity for good. In Amsterdam South-East, we connect shops and markets with local farms, so that nearly expired fruits and vegetables are given a second life as nutritious animal feed instead of being thrown away.

Why participate

This initiative reduces waste, lowers costs for both retailers and farmers, and supports sustainable farming practices. Of course, it won’t solve the global food waste problem alone — but every step matters. Alongside other local projects (such as providing “imperfect” produce to families at low prices or distributing nearly expired food for free), this creates a powerful network of community action.

The more people who join, the bigger the impact. One community can inspire another — and together, these ripples grow into a global wave of sustainable change. 🌍✨

We make it even together with women

At Futurum Nobis, we believe women bring unique perspectives, talents, and strengths that are essential for shaping stronger, more balanced communities. From leadership and mentoring to decision-making and innovation, women’s voices matter. By embracing this diversity, we create space for women to thrive and for society to benefit from their full potential. 💪🌍✨

What’s the idea

We believe women have a special purpose in life that goes far beyond childbirth. Women often think, analyze, and make decisions differently from men — and that difference is a strength. Recognizing and valuing these perspectives opens opportunities to harness women’s skills, talents, and abilities in leadership, advisory, and community roles for the benefit of all.

Why participatie

Through partnerships and training programs, we empower girls, women, and mothers to explore new fields, develop fresh skills, and grow their confidence as leaders. From serving as board members to becoming mentors or advisors, women can unlock their full potential while inspiring others. Participation isn’t just about personal growth — it’s about shaping inclusive, forward-thinking communities together.

I'm close by

I’m Close By is a project designed to strengthen our neighborhoods by connecting people with local services. By making it easier to find and support businesses and providers nearby, we reduce unnecessary travel, cut emissions, and build a stronger, more united community.

What’s the idea

This initiative belongs to our “Live in Unity” and “Sustainable Neighbourhood” pillars. Its goal is to connect local service providers with community members in need of their services.

We are starting in South-East Amsterdam, with the ambition to expand this model to other areas. By creating a central database of local companies and independent providers, we want to make it easier for residents to discover and use nearby resources—supporting both local economy and community resilience.

Why participatie

The Covid-19 pandemic showed us how much time and energy commuting consumes. During lockdowns, people turned to local solutions—finding plumbers, co-working spaces, and social opportunities within their own neighborhoods. The result? Less pollution, stronger local ties, and a renewed sense of belonging.

With I’m Close By, Stichting Futurum Nobis wants to build on this momentum. By joining, local businesses and providers gain visibility, while community members gain easy access to trusted, nearby services. Together, we create a more connected, supportive, and sustainable neighborhood.
